Coaching & Mentoring

The goal of the "Coaching & Mentoring" of the Women's Empowerment & Mentoring Unit is to close the gender gap in the university career path and to sustainably support and specifically promote the academic careers of women.

The services of the Women's Empowerment & Mentoring Unit focus on the conception, planning, organization and support of female physicians and scientists along their career path in medicine. Various mentoring program lines as well as further education and counselling offers for career advancement are available for this purpose. The Women's Empowerment & Mentoring Unit promotes horizontal and vertical networking and supports (self-)empowerment and personal development.

Mentoring programs

Helene Wastl Medicine Mentoring-Program and Clinical PhD-Mentoring Counselling, support and (self-)empowerment by experienced mentors, career program for mentees for professional as well as personal development, networking for female doctors in specialist training, post-doctoral students, participants in postgraduate programs (PhD) and habilitation students as well as for female doctors and young scientists in the clinical field.

Career promotion, personal development & networking

Offering a comprehensive, interdisciplinary seminar and continuing education program for targeted career promotion, networking and personal development under gender and diversity aspects for all interested female physicians and (junior) scientists at the Medical University of Innsbruck.

Information and counselling

The junior faculty @i-med regularly organizes information events on careers in science for all interested staff members. We are happy to provide information material on request.

We also offer individual career counselling for our junior scientists, giving them the opportunity to discuss various key topics, specific questions and individual career opportunities.
