Reimbursement of the college fees

On application, the college fees are to be reimbursed if the student

  • has overpaid. The amount reimbursed is equal to the excess paid.
  • paid the required college fees, but was unable to notify the institution that they are to continue their course as notification is received late;
  • paid incomplete college fees and lost their status as fee-paying students, to the amount of the incorrect payment;
  • paid the required college fees, but subsequently became subject to waiver conditions for the semester in question and asserted this before the end of the extension period;
  • paid the required college fees, but the student lost their status as a fee-paying student before the end of the extension period for the semester in question;
  • has completed their program, which was possible without payment of fees due to the continued effectiveness of the continuation notification from the previous semester (before the end of the extension period);
  • due to death (estate administrator);
  • drops out of the program, if there is a notification of continuation for the immediately preceding semester;
  • drops out of the program provided no examinations have been attempted in the current semester and no academic paper has been submitted for evaluation;
  • is from an EU or EFTA country, exceeded the fee-paying period (official course duration per section or program plus legal tolerance semester), but fulfils waiver conditions and was unable to apply for a waiver within the period specified;

If the student attended other universities simultaneously, when applying for reimbursement, they must prove that enrolment in all programs at these universities subject to compulsory fees also expired before the end of the extension period of the corresponding semester.

Period for application for reimbursement of the college fees:

An application for reimbursement of the college fees for the winter semester must be made by the following March 31. Application for reimbursement of the college fees for the summer semester shall be accepted until the following September 30.

Earmarking of the college fees

Choose what the Innsbruck Medical University should do with your college fees!

As of the full entry into force of the University Act 2002, students can choose from the earmarking options of their college fees specified by the Senate of the Innsbruck Medical University.  The Senate of the Innsbruck Medical University specified the following categories for earmarking:

  • Funding teaching and teaching services
  • Funding infrastructure (maintenance and improvement) for university operations
  • Funding the research infrastructure
