Tasks of the Medical University of Innsbruck
In accordance with section 3 of the University Act (Universitätsgesetz) of 2002, the Medical University of Innsbruck fulfils the following tasks within its sphere of activity:
1. Development of the sciences (research and teaching), development and exploration of the arts, and teaching of the arts;
2. Education through science and through the development and exploration of the arts;
3. Scientific, artistic, artistic-pedagogical and artistic-scientific vocational training, qualification for professional activities that require the application of scientific knowledge and methods, as well as training in artistic and scientific skills to the highest level;
4. Training and promotion of young scientific and artistic talent;
5. Continuing education, in particular for university graduates and educators;
6. Coordination of scientific research (development and exploration of the arts) and teaching within the university;
7. Support for national and international cooperation in the field of scientific research and teaching as well as the arts;
8. Supporting the practical application and implementation of its research results and supporting the social integration of the results of the development and exploration of the arts;
9. Ensuring Gender equality and the advancement of women;
10. Maintaining contact with graduates;
11. Informing the public about the fulfilment of the university's tasks.
