Admission to the Master’s Program in Molecular Medicine

After receiving your offer of a place, you must apply for admission in person within the admission period. The following documents must be presented in original:

1. Confirmation of a study place offer
2. Valid travel document (original)
3. If available: Austrian social security card
4. Proof a successful completion of a study program (original notification)
5. Proof of subject-relevant ECTS-Credits to the Admission Regulations

Failure to commence the studies on time will result in forfeiture of the study place.

Subject-relevant ECTS-Credits

Applicants must also provide proof of subject-relevant ECTS-Credits as part of the admission process. Missing ECTS-Credits can be made up within the framework of the study program. The Director of the Study Program stipulates and reviews the compliance with the requirements.  

Additional, subject-relevant ECTS-Credits acc. to the Admission Regulations are:

• a minimum of 40 ECTS-Credits (practical training courses or practical courses). If this proof cannot be provided completely, but for at least 30 or more ECTS-Credits, applicants can apply for conditional admission for one academic year, during which the missing ECTS-Credits, as prescribed by the governing body responsible for study law, must be passed.
• ECTS-Credits in the following specified subjects must be presented:

If this proof cannot be provided completely, but to an extent that the missing ECTS-Credits do not exceed the number of 15, a conditional admission for one academic year can be granted upon request of the applicant, if the missing ECTS-Credits, as prescribed by the governing body responsible for study law, are made up by courses offered in the Bachelor’s Program in Molecular Medicine at the University of Innsbruck within this year. If the missing ECTS-Credits cannot be presented in time due to the student’s fault, the admission to the study program expires.

Persons who are unable to present one of the above-mentioned documents or who do not submit the documents in accordance with the existing accreditation and/or translation regulations cannot be admitted, even in the case of a long journey.

The execution of the admission in the above-mentioned time with all required documents secures the study place for the beginning of the studies in the respective semester under the condition of the proper payment of the ÖH-fee/study fee within the deadlines.

For non-German language documents the certification and translation regulations must be observed.
