Third-party funding has become an essential component of research funding for universities. Therefore, the Rectorate of the Medical University of Innsbruck (MUI) is committed to providing its employees with the best possible organizational, legal and commercial-administrative support in the acquisition of third-party funds and the handling of these projects. To the videosMaterial Transfer Agreement
An MTA regulates the transfer of generally unpatented material. This is particularly important for university MTAs, as research and teaching are the main focus. In the case of MTAs with industry partners, care must be taken to ensure that the university does not transfer its property for less than it is worth or free of charge. Biological materials such as antibodies or cell lines can be of considerable value, which is why appropriate remuneration is often part of the agreement. The Technology Transfer Office (TTO) will be happy to advise you!
Procedure for preparing an MTA:
Contact:Scientists who wish to transfer material (incoming or outgoing) should contact the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) at an early stage.
Submission of documents: Please complete the relevant questionnaire to prepare the preparation of the MTA. Based on the complete information, the TTO will draw up the contract for you and support you in completing the questionnaire.
