Stand-alone projects
In 2009, stand-alone projects once again represented the core of innovative research funding and the FWF’s largest funding category.
The total amount involved in project applications on which funding decisions were made came to € 243.2 million.
Within the FWF’s programs, this sum accounts for 41.8 % of the overall volume of projects decided upon in 2009.
The FWF continued to pursue its goal of supporting stand-alone projects as the core of its funding activities and to reduce the discrepancy between the number of proposals approved and the funding amounts approved.
