START Program |
The objective of the START Program is to ensure that highly promising young scholars (two to ten years after receiving their doctorate) have the means to plan their research on a long-term basis and with sufficient financial security. By independently establishing, expanding and leading a project group, young scholars are given an opportunity to acquire the qualifications necessary for leading positions in science and research. Grants are approved for a maximum of six years. The upper limit for funds from the START Program is € 1.2 million. |
Wittgenstein Award |
The Wittgenstein Award is intended for scholars who have already established themselves as leaders in their fields. The purpose of this award is to ensure that such scholars enjoy a maximum of freedom and flexibility in carrying out their research in order to enhance their scholarly performance to the fullest possible extent. Grants are approved for a maximum of five years. The upper limit for funds from the Wittgenstein Award is € 1.5 million. |
