The TRP targets scholars from all disciplines in Austria.

Its purpose is to support continuing and targeted basic research at the interface to applied research based on self-generated scholarly insights or projects at the interface between art and science, on the scholar’s own artistic activities and geared toward specific applications and/or a potential economic, social or cultural benefit.

Moreover, the program aims to promote cooperation between university scholars with their counterparts at research institutions outside the university setting and at polytechnics in order to leverage synergies with regard to research personnel and infrastructure as well as permeability in connection with the education of doctoral candidates.

Funding for these projects is provided by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT).
