Applicants:

The “submitting” or “corresponding author” must be a member of MUI and responsible for payment of publication costs.

Requirement for publication in a journal:

  • The article must appear in a “pure” open access journal, be listed in the Dictionary of Open-Access Journals DOAJ and be freely accessible via the internet immediately on publication.
  • The journal must have an impact factor of at least 4 or be listed in class 1 in the respective subject area in Pubmon. See Pubmon publication monitor.
  • Only new submissions will be funded.

For which costs can an application be made?

An application can be made only for article processing charges – no submission fees, colour charges etc. The invoice must be addressed to “Medizinische Universität Innsbruck / Medical University of Innsbruck” and paid in advance via the cost centre of the respective organisational unit. Proof of payment is required. Approved grants will be refunded only to the cost centre of the respective organisational unit.

No funding:

  • In the case of redemption of hybrid open-access publications in subscription journals.

Funding is awarded on a “first come, first served” basis. There is no legal entitlement to this funding. When the funding from the publication fund of the Medical University of Innsbruck is exhausted, no further funding will be possible.
